In Found, you can include additional care fee days outside of the standard billing cycle when creating an invoice schedule or attaching a resident to a fee payer’s billing contract. This ensures the fee payer is accurately billed for any care provided before the standard billing period begins.

What are additional care fee days?

An invoice schedule or billing contract is configured to cover a defined billing cycle between the Billing Period Start Date and Billing Period End Date.

Additional care fee days refer to any chargeable care days that fall before the billing cycle begins—for example, when a resident moves in on the 15th of the month but the standard billing schedule starts on the 1st of the following month.

These additional days are billed as a separate line item on the first financial document generated by the schedule.

How to add additional care fee days

When creating an invoice schedule or attaching a resident to a billing contract, configure the schedule to align with the fee payer’s standard billing logic.

For example:

  • The resident moves in on 15th May, but the fee payer’s billing cycle starts on the 1st of each month.
  • Set the schedule start date to 1st June, then add 15–31 May as additional care fee days.

To add the additional care fee days:

  1. Create the invoice schedule or attach the resident to a billing contract as usual.
  2. After creation, if eligible, you’ll be prompted to add additional care fee days.
  3. Select the start date for the additional days.
    1. You can select any date from the resident’s booking start date up to the day before the Billing Period Start Date of the invoice schedule or billing contract
  4. Click Add Care Fee Period to First Invoice.

Once created, an additional line item will automatically appear on the first invoice, covering the specified days outside the standard billing period.
