In scenarios where a resident's booking is scheduled before their planned move-in date, you have the option to cancel the booking before their arrival. This may occur, for example, if the family decides not to proceed with the admission or if the resident has passed away.
Step 1 - Navigate to the resident booking
Go to the resident profile and click on the "Bookings" tab. Find the associated booking and click the three-dot menu next to it. Select "Edit Booking" from the options. In the side panel at the top, you'll see four options—click on "Cancel Booking".
Step 2 - Cancel the booking
When cancelling a booking, you'll need to provide a "Cancel Reason" and a "Cancellation Date." Once the booking is cancelled, it will no longer count as an admission, and the room will become available for re-occupancy.
Step 3 - Finalise the booking
After the booking is cancelled, a user with the necessary permissions will need to finalise the booking. Follow the onscreen instructions within the resident profile to finalise the booking.
This step is especially important if the resident was invoiced in advance of their stay. It will allow you to process any necessary credit according to your policies on cancelled bookings.
Regardless of the outcome of the booking, it’s always recommended to finalise it.
